EXCLUSIVE: Ayushmann Khuraana Feels There Should Be No Demarcation Between A Man And Woman, You Choose Who You Want To Be

Now, since the film delves into a complex subject and Ayushmann has to behave and talk like a woman, it goes without saying that as an actor he had to delve deep into his psyche or maybe someplace in his being that is womanly. Therefore, when we at Desimartini exclusively got in touch with the actor, we were keen to know, what were his understandings of the feelings of a woman especially after he did the role.

That’s when Ayushmann said, his film is a little sexually dynamic in nature. He felt the film wanted to say that there is no one quality that could differentiate you from a woman if you are a man, or from a man if you are a woman. Quipped he, “Our film unknowingly talks about gender fluidity - that there has to be no direct demarcation between a man and a woman and it is your prerogative who you want to be.”

The actor feels that the preconceived societal notions that are adhered to particular sex should not be there in the first place. “There should be no diktats that you have to be in a certain way to be a man or a woman. It’s your own choice.”

The Dream Girl actor also feels that the film celebrates womanhood and how it emphasises on the human need of a companion and how life is not just about sex. He furthered, “At the same time it celebrates womanhood in a certain way unknowingly and it also shows that you always need a companion in life. The film is not just about the adult chat sessions from a call centre. It is about having a friend, a stranger friend with whom you can share everything.

Well, these are some observations for sure! Well, we hope Ayushmann’s Dream Girl really rules the roost. For more such Bollywood news keep a close tab on Desimartini.com
