Akshaye Khanna has now come out in support of the protests. He affirms there should be protests for sure in case if there is someone who disagrees with something. Quipped he, “I just feel whenever there is a situation presents itself where you see there is a disagreement between people in society. Some people agree with something, some don’t. Some people will go to the extent of coming out on the streets protesting making their voices heard and that is such an amazing part of democracy and we should always be so grateful and we should not be like 'oh... there are protests… there is unrest.' Unrest or protests or people coming out on the streets and making themselves heard is an amazing thing, it should be celebrated.

He further went on to say how protests should not be looked down upon and how protests should happen. He stated, “It should not be something like – Oh there are protests! There should be protests. If someone disagrees with something, there should be protests. One should sit down across the table and have a dialogue and see how things can be resolved.

He further asserted; this voicing of our opinions makes our democracy amazing. “It is an amazing part of our country and that is why we are always in protest! We are always protesting about something, in some part of the country, in some state, in some city, in some area. Whether it is a religious protest or it is a social protest or a political protest. There is some protest going on everywhere and that is the amazing part of India that is so open to protests, to disagreements to conversations and all those things.”
