EXCLUSIVE: Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari opens up about her upcoming web series Faadu, and Leander Paes- Mahesh Bhupathi docudrama

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has proved herself to be a passionate filmmaker with her projects. While she is all set to debut as an author, as her novel Mapping Love releases on 1st August, she also has a lot on her plate. She is all set to direct a OTT series, Faadu. Not just that, she will also collaborate with her husband Nitesh Tiwari for the Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi docudrama. In an exclusive interaction with us, she opened up about the projects.

Talking about trying something new with Faadu, Ashwiny said, "You should never say never and I like trying, I like challenging myself. For me, everything which I do I feel like I’m learning this for the first time. I forget all that I’ve done in the past and am like this is my first. So, I never carry the lineage of my past work because that will make me complacent. I like challenging myself, and then I study- I am a student of life, I am very meticulous. Faadu is something which is very exciting and also the platform (where it will release) is doing some amazing work. Again, it’s a very different story, not something which I have ever done before. So yeah, I like challenges."

Ashwiny also opened up about her other projects and said, "The Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi project is a docu-drama with Zee, it’s a series. It’s very different from the life story of Mr. and Mrs. Murthy, which is a full original film. It’s the first time we are trying something like this (the LeaHesh docudrama) and also this is the first time Nitesh and I are co-directing with each other. I am also producing the docudrama under my banner. It’s different, it’s exciting and also tiring, but yeah I kind of like it."

She also added, "I can’t repeat myself, I don’t like to be tagged as one kind of filmmaker, one kind of storyteller. I challenge myself to say different kinds of stories and that’s what keeps us going."
