EXCLUSIVE: I Have Not Approached Deepika Padukone For Noti Binodini Biopic YET - Director Pradeep Sarkar

Well, biopics have become the order of the day! There are so many biopics happening day in and day out. And the good part of it all is the audiences are in fact liking the biopics that are being churned out by Bollywood. Many real-life heroes who somehow faded into the oblivion with their achievements are now coming into the limelight, thanks to these films.

One of the most celebrated directors Mr Pradeep Sarkar is again planning to make another biopic and this time it is about the thespian, the first woman of theatre and plays – The Bengali courtesan with beauty without any comparison – Noti Binodini!

The character is one of the most elusive characters to have been there and one off the most significant in terms of performing arts as well!

A few days ago there were reports about Pradeep Sarkar approaching and finalising Deepika Padukone to play the lead and that Vidya Balan was in contention for the role. But we at Desimartini.com wanted confirmation and that is why we exclusively got in touch with director Pradeep Sarkar himself who rubbished the news. Quipped he, Yes, I am doing the biopic but I haven’t even gotten in touch with Deepika. I do wish to rope her in for the role but I haven’t approached her as yet.”

Well, so there you go, there is absolutely no truth in the news about Deepika being locked for the role of Noti Binodini.

Noti Binodini Dasi started acting at the age of 12, she started off as a courtesan under the founder of the world-famous Girish Ghosh. She is a legend and is also one of the first theatre actresses from South-Asia to have written her own autobiography “Amar Katha”.

Now whether it is Deepika or Vidya to pull off this one will surely be extremely difficult for anyone.
