    But things were not this way all the time. Disha is a small-town girl who has had her share of trials and tribulations while juggling between her personal life and her professional one. The actress who once aimed to be an air force pilot thanks providence for the life she has now. Speaking to Desimartini, she exclusively revealed that she just got extremely lucky. “Luck happened for me; I guess I didn’t really expect to be an actor. I could have never imagined.”

    She belonged to a middle-class family and had the same struggles of any other middle-class girl. She as studying in Noida when she dropped out of college and came down to Mumbai for a modelling assignment and feels that is where she understood what her true calling was. She went on to reveal, “I come from a very small town. I was studying in Lucknow and then I shifted to Noida for my second year B-Tech. I wanted to be an air force pilot and somehow modelling happened. I shifted to Mumbai and dropped my college. I am a college dropout and I started working and I guess, I realised that I liked acting while I was auditioning and I am here now. I think I just followed my heart and I am very happy I did it because, if I would have thought too much at that point, I would have never come here, I would have stuck to my air force dream which also would have been nice, but I think I am living a better dream right now. I am exploring myself and I don’t know, what I am going to be doing tomorrow."

    Speaking about nepotism in Bollywood she stated it is in fact hard for everyone and not just newcomers in Bollywood but at the same time she admitted that newcomers have a difficult time starting up in the industry. “I am sure it is hard for everyone, irrespective of one being from the film industry because they have a different kind of struggle. There are certain kind of expectations they have to go through. We don’t have a baggage. It is better for us but to start a journey, it is a little hard for us. But again, I think you have to work hard in any profession. I have been very lucky, I must say!” She concluded.
