Exclusive: Radhika Madan is more like Sunny Kaushal’s Shiddat character Jaggi; says ‘Kartika is very cerebral’

Radhika Madan and Sunny Kaushal starrer Shiddat is all set to premiere on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar this Friday and fans can’t wait to see how their intense love story turns out! By the looks of the trailer and songs that have been shared on the internet so far, Sunny aka Jaggi is a hardcore romantic who has fallen hard for Kartika, played by Radhika. Our heroine, on the other hand, has a more practical approach to love as well as life. In fact, she is engaged to get married to someone else when she meets Jaggi for the first time!

Well, in an exclusive interview with Desimartini, the two actors opened up about how much they are like their characters in real life. We referred to Jaggi as a Punjabi munda, which is what Sunny seems to be in real. The actor agreed as he replied, “That was a little easy for me to pull off because I just had to kind of pull out my ‘Punjabiyat’ from inside and just put it in Jaggi, you know. So that’s pretty similar from me.” When asked if Radhika also relates to her character Kartika, she revealed, “I am more of a Jaggi, I’m not at all like Kartika.”

Radhika explained, “Kartika is very cerebral. She compartmentalizes everything in her life, even love. So, I couldn’t connect to Kartika at all when I read Kartika, I was like ‘Problem kya hai isko itni saari, over complications’. But I think that was the fun of it, I wanted to understand her, I wanted to know what she’s went through and why is she like this. So that was really really fun for me. I hope people see that and connect to it somewhere.”
