EXCLUSIVE: Siddhant Chaturvedi Talks About His Debut Film Gully Boy Going To The Oscars, Reacts To The Film Dropping Out

Well, Gully Boy is out of the Oscars race. The film was India’s official entry to the Oscars in 2019  but films it had to compete with were numerous and only 10 of them could be shortlisted. We at Desimartini recently got chatting with Gully Boy’s MC Sher Siddhant Chaturvedi where he shed light on what he felt when his debut film Gully Boy couldn’t make it into the final nominations of Oscars 2020.

Siddhant admitted that he is sad about it. Quipped he, “I mean, it is sad but it is alright, I think.”

He further revealed that he is happy that his very first film made into the list of the films that were contending for the Oscars 2020. He stated, “It is my first film and it went to the Oscars. The jury saw it, we got a lot of international exposure, from Japan to America, everywhere.”

He said, he keeps receiving adulations for the film time and again but also confesses that it would have been very good if in case the film could have made it. “I still get a lot of messages so; I think I am fine. I think I am okay; I am fortunate to be part of that movie. It made to the Oscars as the official entry from India. I think it was a very happy day for me. I am okay. If it would have won it would have been great but it is okay.” Chaturvedi concluded.
