When we talk about the complex subject of AIDS and homosexuality that Love Amour follows, Bollywood has a tendency to have dealt with the subject without really delved deep into what AIDS is actually like and how hideous its true face is which is in stark contrast with its western counterpart. Shreyas feels even though this is indeed true for Bollywood, one film that he felt that was very beautiful and did a decent job on that front was Onir’s My Brother Nikhil. “It was done many years ago. Now, with the cinema advancement, with people’s mind being opened, more than anything else the audience wanting content, this film is beautifully sensitive. It is about what the individuals undergo and also what the family undergoes.” The actor further asserted, “We don’t want to move away from reality, but having said that we have the censor board and other groups, who have their limitations, I hope everything goes smoothly and we hope we showcase what we want to.”

The film goes on floors in November this year and we at HT Desimartini hope the audiences get to see what the reality is in its stark form without any sugar-coating whatsoever. This is how the full potential of cinema as a medium of mass communication will be realised!
