EXCLUSIVE! This Is What Soni Razdan Has To Say About Trolls Calling Her Daughter Alia Bhatt STUPID On Social Media

Soni Razdan is all set to feature in a Zee5 original film Yours Truly and in an exclusive chat with Desimartini.com she revealed a lot about her personal side and her opinions.

Our part of the world knows, she is also the mother of actress Alia Bhatt. Alia has become a big name in the entertainment Industry because of her acting skills and her body of work. She has managed to carve a niche for herself and has millions of fan following. She is a lovely actress, a beautiful dancer and also comes across as a beautiful mind. Having said that, we should not forget that she is also human and it is human to err. And she errored a number of times, it all began from one Koffee with Karan episode where she was asked a GK question and the poor girl answered it wrongly. Then onwards a spate of such questions were being hurled at her, at press conferences, at functions, such stupid jibes were taken at her and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to state that she was termed to be a dumb actress on the social media. Memes started flowing all across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, that meant to show that Alia was devoid of any intellect!

However, it must be noted that Alia’s choice of films and her portrayal of the characters have shown otherwise. In Highway, she played ‘Veera Tripathi’ who suffered sexual abuse at the hands of a family member because of which in her adulthood she harbours an innate hatred for her immediate family members but develops love for someone who has kidnapped her. In ‘Udta Punjab’ she plays Bauria, a Bihari migrant worker whose dreams of playing national level hockey have been shattered only to find herself sexually abused and prostituted by a gang of drug-peddlers. In ‘Raazi’ she plays Sehmat, an undercover agent who gets married to a Pakistani family only to keep a close track on their sinister plans against India.

Playing such intensely intricate characters isn’t easy for someone who isn’t intelligent, who doesn’t delve deep into the psyche of the characters and their backgrounds. Such roles can only be played to the T by a thinking actor; thus, it comes as a surprise to us when she is made fun of. Soni Razdan feels that it is not worth her while to even take those comments seriously. Quipped she, “I don’t react to those comments because I don’t even read them, I don’t give mental space to such things. They don’t concern me or her (Alia) or anyone of us. I am being honest.”

Soni even went on to say that she doesn’t want to involve herself in this at all and that it would amount to nothing but a sheer waste of vitality! She articulated, “I don’t want to give out any statement to anyone, I don’t want to engage with this. This is what I call zero engagement. Better to do that. Why should I waste my mental energy even thinking about a statement? I don’t think it merits that much thought and I like to think and talk about positive things.”

Well, we at Desimartini.com feel that nonchalance is okay to a certain point but when it comes to social responsibility and taking matters in one’s hands especially because you are in a position to do so, you should not try and abrogate it. It is good to talk about positive things and it is good to engage with all the niceties of the universe, but at the same time when you got to raise a voice, YOU’VE GOT TO RAISE A VOICE!
