Family Man 2: Manoj Bajpayee Starrer Was Delayed For THIS Reason? Read Deets...

Raj and DK had captured the hearts of the audience with the terrific web series, The Family Man. Everyone had been eagerly waiting for the second series and the return of Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant. It was supposed to release back in February, but was delayed and would finally be streaming from June 4th. It has often been said that the controversy due to Tandav had caused this delay. Now, we have more news on why this was actually pushed.

According to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, the reason was Samantha Akkineni's character. The source revealed, “After the Tandav controversy and the ensuing harassment of the Tandav creative and business team, Amazon Prime decided to put a brake on the release of The Family Man Season 2, as Samantha Akkineni’s character of the Tamil rebel is plainly an LTTE offshoot.”

So what has changed now? The source added, “There is no reference by name to the LTTE. Samantha Akkineni’s character could be from anywhere. If the protestors make up their minds about The Family Man 2 being anti-Tamil without even seeing the series merely on the basis of the trailer, then the creative freedom of this country is screwed.” 

Controversy has still been generated by the series already, but that is not deterring the enthusiasm of the audience.
