"For Me, Kai Po Che Is Over," Says Amit Sadh On Sushant Singh Rajput's Birth Anniversary As He Remembers His Co-Star

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in 2020 has left a huge void in all the lives he managed to touch as an actor. His family and co-stars remember him today, his first birth anniversary after his tragic demise. The late actor’s first co-star Amit Sadh who forayed into films from television just like Sushant emotionally remembers working with him on ‘Kai Po Che’ and said that with his co-star's death the film is 'over' for him.

‘Kai Po Che’, the story of three friends, based Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’, released in 2013 and with Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Rajkummar Rao sharing screen together. Reminiscing the days of working together on this Abhishek Kapoor film on Sushant’s birthday, an emotional Amit heaped praises on the late actor for his talent and told The Quint, “He was very clear with what he wanted. He was very clear with his hunger. I think that is what was amazing about him. He was very unapologetic about his hunger of life, his quest for life, his acting. He was a very very hard working actor. And he showed it in such a small span of time. He showed his talent with his filmography. If you see the kind of movies he has done and the range he had. Ya, so for me he will always stay alive with the work that he did”.

Amit said that after Sushant’s death, ‘Kai Po Che’ doesn’t excite him anymore despite being a very special film. “For me ‘Kai Pe Che’ is over. But those are my thoughts and it was just fun knowing him. He was just full of life and ideas. He was a very good co-actor. I think me, Raj and Sushant - we were at our purest as human beings, as artistes at that time. We had a great bond and of course we all kind of ventured into the real world,” the actor said.

He added that they were all really protected by filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor at the time of working on ‘Kai Po Che’.

Sushant Singh Rajput died at 34 on June 14, 2020 in his Mumbai based apartment. The CBI is still investigating the actor’s death case.
