Game Of Thrones: Find Out Where The Major Houses Of Westeros Stand In Terms Of Living House Members Before Season 8

With Game of Thrones season 8 almost upon us, every major GOT fan is now busy recalling where we stand in the grand scheme of things. In the last 7 seasons so much has happened that it is fairly impossible to fathom everything. So many favorite characters have died, so many who were of utmost importance have completely lost significance and the ones we thought were not that important are holding the fort.

When the saga of Westeros started there were these grand houses with their sigils, great words and members who were determined to take the house name forward. But this is Game of Thrones and nothing is what anyone planned.  Just before we are sucked in the tumultuous chain of events in season 8, here is a round-up of all the great houses of Westeros and where they stand in terms of living members.

House Stark: Sansa Stark, Arya Stark and Brandon Star are alive and back at the Winterfell.

House Lannister: With so much happening, it feels almost surreal that Cersei, Jaime and Tyrion Lannister are still alive and planning to pay their debts.

House Targaryen: Initially, the burden of taking the Targaryen name forward was on Daenerys alone, but now we know that Jon Snow is also a Targaryen and we are waiting to see what happens next.

House Greyjoy: Although displaced, Yara, Euron and Theon are the only Ironborns who are still there.

House Clegane: The Hound and The Mountain a.k.a. Sandor Clegane and Gregor Clegane are keeping the name of their house alive.

House Mormont: With a warrior like Jorah Mormont and a bundle of fierceness like Lyanna Mormont, the future of this house seems bright.

House Tarly: Even though Daenerys’ dragons burnt the warriors Randal and Dickon Tarly to a crisp, Samwell Tarly is keeping the Tarly name alive.

House Tully: In all probability, Edmure Tully is still held hostage by the Lannisters.

Major Houses With No Living Members:

House Tyrell: Mace, Margaery and Loras Tyrell died due to the explosion at the Sept of Baelor and Olenna Tyrell was finally poisoned by Jaime after the Lannister army took control of Highgarden.

House Frey: They paid the ultimate price for Red Wedding when Arya poisoned and killed the whole family.

House Martell: First, The Mountain killed Oberyn Martell, then the Sand Snakes along with Ellaria killed Prince Doran and Trystane Martell and then Sand Snakes and Ellaria suffered a horrible fate in the hand of Euron Greyjoy and Cersei Lannister.

House Bolton: Roose and Ramsay Bolton met their creators in the same horrid way by which they killed and tortured others.
