Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 1: It's An All Star Reunion For GoT That Promises A Nail-Biting Season
After a torturous wait of almost 2 years, the final season of Game of Thrones is here. Last time we met the Starks, Targaryens and the Lannisters and the rest of the people in Westeros, things were getting intense as Jon was falling in love with Daenerys, Cersei was trying to conquer the lands that Daenerys annexed and of course Daenerys was planning to travel to Winterfell with her Dothrakis and Unsullied to fight The Great War against the White Walkers.
In the first episode, we see Daenerys with her army entering the gates of Winterfell as Northerners eye her and her army with suspicion. The Northern lords and even Sansa are not exactly thrilled that Jon decided to forego the title of King In The North. In the coming episodes, it would be exciting to see how the equation between these two incredible and fierce ladies pans out.

Apart from a lot of cast reunions, including the one between Jon and Arya, and Sansa and her estranged husband Tyrion, it was replete with some emotional and nostalgic moments. In fact, it seemed like the first season was designated to tie all the loose threads from the 7 seasons gone by. Every question that was left unanswered, either found a resolution or at least a build up to the resolutions.
What is exciting about the episode is, it gives a lot of throwbacks to the first episode of the very first season. Remember how Winterfell welcomed King Robert Baratheon and his entourage? In this episode, we see Winterfell extending the same welcome to Daenerys, and Sansa even says the same word that Ned Stark spoke to Robert while welcoming him to Winterfell. Also, that little boy running and climbing things to catch a glimpse of the entourage is a clear throwback to the time when Bran in the first episode climbed the broken tower to catch a glimpse of Robert’s entourage. And of course, the biggest one being Bran and Jaime coming face to face at the end of the episode as they did at the end of the first episode.

It was the interaction between these two that set the chain of events rolling in Westeros and knowing the makers of Game of Thrones, we are sure that history is indeed going to repeat itself, but this time there is a conclusion in sight.
Another exciting moment was the one that Jon had with Daenerys and his dragons. As their romance brews and Ser Davos, Tyrion and Lord Varys press for an alliance, the coming together of Ice and Fire is no more just a concept but rather quite literal.
As Jon walks towards his destiny and new alliances are being intensified, all the loose threads of every story in Westeros is coming together to finally become a rope that pulls the destiny to its conclusion.
