Gangubai Kathiawadi: Ajay Devgn Allots Ten Days For The Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film Starring Alia Bhatt?

Fans have eagerly been waiting to watch Alia Bhatt deliver another career-defining performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actress would be seen doubling up as the prostitute turned mafia queen of Mumbai. While she is playing the lead with no male hero opposite her, it's a known fact by now that Ajay Devgn will have a cameo in the film. Now, more details about it are out.

If reports are to be believed, then Ajay Devgn, who will play the role of Karim Lala in the film, had allotted close to 10 days to the film. He will be shooting his portion at the end of this month in Mumbai's Film City where a set has been created. A source told Peepingmoon, "Ajay Devgan plays the role of dreaded Karim Lala. He taught Gangubai the tricks of the trade and played a major role in her rise as a legend in Mumbai's streets, lanes and back-alleys. Ajay's character is not a typical cameo but rather an extended cameo appearance that holds an important place in the film's storyline. He is said to have allotted 10-12 days to film his portions that mostly includes the intense talkie portions with Alia."

Another source was quoted by Bollywood Hungama saying, “He comes to the rescue of Gangubai and then plays a big role in making her the brothel chief of Mumbai. When no one stood by Gangubai, it was Karim Lala who backed her and put her in a position of power. It’s a strong character, and the film would be incomplete without Ajay’s presence. There is a reason why he is cast for the role, as no one but him could have pulled it off.”

It has already been declared that the film will hit the theatres this year, however, the exact release date has not been given out. Rumours were doing the rounds that it might release on Diwali. Well, we will get to know that it due time.
