Gangubai Kathiawadi: Alia Bhatt To Shoot A Typical Sanjay Leela Bhansali Number With 200 Background Dancers

The gorgeous Alia Bhatt has been incredibly busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited biographical crime film Gangubai Kathiawadi, ever since shooting resumed post the coronavirus lockdown. Well, latest reports suggest that the project is almost complete and the actress only has to shoot two songs before calling it a wrap. However, these will be Bhansali’s typical dance numbers which are set on a lavish scale, such as the beautiful and grand dance sequences in his previous masterpieces like Pinga, Dola Re Dola and Ram Chahe Leela.

In a report shared by Mid Day, a source was quoted saying, “Alia has been given a fortnight’s break; she is utilising the time to rehearse for the two tracks. One of them is a typical Bhansali number, envisioned on a lavish scale, complete with 200 background dancers.” These tracks will be shot at the set of Kamathipura which were built at Goregaon’s Film City. The source went on to add that the unit had filmed one song last year before the lockdown, but on resuming work the filmmaker decided to finish the other sequences first. Now the full focus will be on the ‘song-and-dance routines’.

Other than Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia has many other exciting projects in her kitty such as Ayan Mukerji's fantasy film Brahmāstra, co-starring beau Ranbir Kapoor and superstar Amitabh Bachchan, and S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR with N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan. Her multi-starrer Takht, on the other hand, has reportedly been shelved permanently.
