Gangubai Kathiawadi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film Starring Alia Bhatt Runs Into Legal Troubles After Family Files Case; Read Details

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films have been the hotspot of controversies lately. His last release, Padmavaat had raged a storm after a group opposed the film. Now, he is busy shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi, which is based on Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens Of Mumbai' and chronicles the life of a woman who was a prostitute and turned into one of the fiercest underworld dons. But now, the film seems to have gotten entangled in another trouble,

The film has run into legal trouble after family members of Gangubai filed a case against the film. They have moved a civil court in Bombay against the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and actress Alia Bhatt. Not just that, Hussain Zaidi too seems to have filed a complaint against the director and the actress. It is still not clear why a case has been filed and the official statement about the same is yet to be given. We wonder what prompted the family members or Hussain Zaidi to take the step. No one was available for comments.

It was just recently that Alia Bhatt resumed the shoot of the film. It would also star Shantanu Maheshwari, and mark his Bollywood debut. The film was scheduled to release in September, but was delayed due to the pandemic.
