Gangubai Kathiawadi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Wraps Ajay Devgn’s Portion While Alia Recovers From COVID-19

Back when Sanjay Leela Bhansali tested positive for coronavirus, it was announced that only one day of shooting is left for his upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Sadly, while the filmmaker recovered, lead star Alia Bhatt contracted the virus and is now under home quarantine. This left fans wondering if the film will be able to release on the decided date, which is 30^th July, or not. Well, latest reports have now revealed that Ajay Devgn, who will be seen in an extended cameo, has completed his portion for the film.

A report in Spotboye revealed that while Alia is recovering at home, Bhansali wrapped up Ajay’s portion for Gangubai Kathiawadi. That’s not all! The filmmaker was so impressed that he even decided to extend the actor’s role. A source was quoted saying, “They last worked together in 1999 in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Since then they have been trying to come together again. But something or the other kept going wrong. They’re finally collaborating again and it seems like they never stopped working together.”

Alia will be seen in the titular role whereas Ajay will be portraying the character of Karim Lala. The film also features a cameo by Emraan Hashmi and will see Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa in supporting roles.
