Govinda created a huge stir on social media after he announced that he was offered to be a part of Hollywood director James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film Avatar on the TV show Aap Ki Adalat. The 90’s superstar was trolled mercilessly for claiming that he even suggested the title to the director and refused to do the film because he did not want to be covered in paint.

The actor certainly retaliated after a roar of disbelief on his claims by netizens and now according to recent reports one of his former co-stars has stepped forward asserting that he was indeed offered the Hollywood film.

The said co-star was quoted saying, “He was always talking about the films that were offered to him. And I remember he mentioned to me that he had been offered Avatar way back in 2006 – 2007. So, it is quite possible that this offer did come his way. Why do we have to doubt him, just because it is Hollywood and James Cameron?

Defending his claims Govinda had earlier told Bombay Times, “I am not active on social media, but my daughter Tina keeps me in the loop. I am fine with people wondering how someone like Govinda could refuse a James Cameron film. I can understand where they are coming from. I respect that thought. They are entitled to have that opinion, but to say how come Govinda got that offer in the first place, is wrong. It’s not like meri aukat nahi hai. It’s prejudiced behaviour.”

Avatar released in 2009 and went on to become the highest grossing film in the world and also won the Academy Award for its visual effects. Marvel’s Avengers Endgame recently beat the record of the film to become the highest grosser.
