Gulki Joshi Admits She Was Hesitant To Resume Shoot, Says ‘It Was Overwhelming’

Now that the lockdown has been eased (at least as far as the shoots are concerned), the producers and actors are coming back to the sets. Well, television has clearly lost its audiences during the lockdown, and the industry has incurred heavy losses. The shoots of TV serials once again resumed with strict guidelines and precautions being followed on sets.

Well, recently after TV actor Parth Samthaan tested positive for COVID-19 soon after he had resumed shooting the safety of actors on sets has once again been questioned. However, there are many shows which are still shooting despite the precarious situation and one such show is Sony SAB’s Maddam Sir. We got in touch with actress Gulki Joshi who plays the character of Haseena Mallik in the show to know whether she was a bit apprehensive to begin shooting amid the pandemic.

The actress who is more than happy to be back on the set after almost a hundred days quipped, “These are trying times and it was indeed overwhelming to be back on the set given the situation. While I am thrilled to be back on the set after a 3-month break, it is all the more crucial to keep ourselves safe. Sony SAB and production house are taking the best precautionary measures and I also carry my own sanitizer gel and spray. I spray my uniform when it is delivered every morning to ensure that extra layer of sanitization.”

The actress admitted she was a bit apprehensive about it all in the very beginning, “Yes, I was a little hesitant at first to resume shoot but after witnessing the several layers of sanitization that everyone is required to pass, I was relieved. From temperature and oxygen level checks to sanitizing ourselves head to toe, wearing masks and PPE kits, the set has all the measures in place. The sets are sanitised at regular which is quite reassuring. No one is allowed to enter the set without proper sanitization and safety gear. I hope things get better soon and everyone continues to take the safety measures seriously as we are looking forward to bringing fresh episodes for our audience very soon."

The actress is also absolutely over the moon that her show will be back on-air after a long gap, “Finally, after a long wait, it's so good to be coming back on-air with fresh episodes. I am super excited but at the same time a tad nervous as we go on-air again. The team has worked very hard and prepared well to come up with adventurous new episodes of Maddam Sir. As a part of the preparations for the fresh episodes, our entire cast also interacted and sought inspiration from real-life police officers and I believe it was our best experience of the show so far. We continue to learn and grow, and that experience is what is really crucial for any artist,” she concluded.
