Hansal Mehta Defends Abhishek Bachchan's The Big Bull Trailer Against Unfair Comparisons With Scam 1992

Abhishek Bachchan starrer Big Bull trailer dropped and it didn’t take long for netizens to begin comparing the movie to filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s acclaimed web series Scam 1992 which released last year with Pratik Gandhi in the lead. As the movie is also based on Harshad Mehta the comparisons were inevitable despite the several months between the two projects.

Given the raging success the web series proved to be, The Big Bull is fighting the highest order of expectations and filmmaker Hansal Mehta stepped in to ward off all unfair comparisons the movie is facing based on just the trailer.

Hansal replying to one user who found the trailer to be paler in comparison to Scam 1992, defended Abhishek’s film and wrote, “Please don’t make unfair comparisons. There can be multiple tales on the same story. Every story-teller will have his own way and should be seen independent of the other. This film has so many talents involved just like my show. They’ve done their best and they deserve your love.”

Abhishek’s film produced by Ajay Devgn is based on the biggest financial scam in the country. Hansal Mehta happens to be intrigued by the trailer and impressed by the performances. Congratulating the team of The Big Bull on the trailer he added, “And very intriguing trailer with such phenomenal actors. You are in great form @juniorbachchan. More power to the entire team of #TheBigBull on @DisneyPlusHS.”

The Big Bull releases on Disney+ Hotstar on 8 April.
