Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor: ‘So many people saw my cameo in AK vs AK, then went to watch Bhavesh Joshi Superhero’

After superstar Anil Kapoor, actress Sonam Kapoor and filmmaker Rhea Kapoor, another member of the Kapoor clan made a smashing entry into Bollywood-- Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. The young man made his acting debut in 2016 with Mirzya, which failed at the box office and received mixed reviews. Up next he was seen in Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, which also turned out to be a box office bomb. However, the film received a lot of love when it released on the digital platform and Harsh was lauded for his impactful performance.

Looking at his career graph till now, it is clear that his outings have been more successful on OTT platforms-- may it be Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, his well-received cameo in AK vs AK or Ray. Talking about the same in a chat with Hindustan Times, the actor shared, “It goes on to show the longevity of films being on these platforms. What is beautiful is that so many people who had not seen my work, saw my cameo in AK vs AK, then went to watch Bhavesh… and then Ray. These films will always be there on those platforms. That is the beautiful thing, we have evolved so much in the way we market things.”

He also stated that things would have been different if Bhavesh Joshi Superhero was an OTT original and premiered directly on digital platforms. Up next, Harsh Varrdhan will shine on-screen as Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra in latter’s biopic.
