Haseen Dillruba: Vikrant Massey feels there is a genuine possibility of a sequel; says ‘Film ends at a delicious point’

Vikrant Massey and Taapsee Pannu left us pleasantly surprised with their impeccable performances in Vinil Mathew’s recently released Haseen Dillruba. While Taapsee portrayed the role of a feisty but bored married woman, Vikrant played the character of a simple man whose personality takes a crazy turn when his wife cheats on him. They looked great together in the romantic mystery thriller and their fresh chemistry left us wanting more. The movie ended on a shocking note and was satisfactory. However, audiences now want to know if we can expect a sequel which will take the story forward.

Much to our delight, Vikrant answered the question in a recent interview with Mid Day. He was quoted saying, “It looks like a genuine possibility. People want it, and if there is public demand, we will think about it. The film ends at a delicious point, and Kanika [Dhillon] is a masterful writer. Sequels depend on producers; if they are game, we will be too. When this film came to me, I was looking to play a grey part.”

He explained, “Basis my off-screen personality, the public perception is, ‘How sweet is this boy!' But as an actor, I need to bring to screen every facet of human personality. I am fortunate that I am not pigeon-holed, and want my audience to find something new with each [of my offerings].”
