Heera Mandi: Kartik Aaryan Hasn’t Been Roped In For Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Web Series Yet

Bollywood’s heartthrob Kartik Aaryan, who is one of the most sought after actors of our film industry, has many exciting scripts in his kitty for the coming year. He was last seen on the big screen in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal and is now busy prepping for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Dostana 2 and his next release Dhamaka. The actor has also been roped in for the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Well it was recently reported that Kartik will also join hands with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his upcoming web series. However, sources have now denied these rumors.

Buzz suggested that Bhansali has offered Kartik a role in Heera Mandi, his upcoming web series which focuses on the hidden culture of the red light area in the walled city of Lahore. But in the latest report shared by Spotboye, a source close to the development has revealed, “No male actor has been cast in Heera Mandi as yet. The plot of Heera Mandi revolves around a gallery of interesting women from different generations in a brothel. It is important for Sanjay Bhansali to find the right faces for every female protagonist in Heera Mandi.”

While it is not clear if Kartik has even been offered a role yet, the source has revealed that Tabu, Rekha, Shabana Azmi, Tanvi Azmi and Huma Qureshi are being considered to portray important characters in the women-centric web series.
