Here Is Why We Think Salman Khan's Bharat Is NOT a Good Idea For Priyanka Chopra

It was just a few days back that Salman Khan announced Priyanka Chopra as the lead in Bharat and the world went mad. The film which is being directed by Abbas Ali Zafar of Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai is a remake of super hit South Korean film Ode To My Father.

While we couldn’t be happier about Priyanka coming back to Bollywood after a hiatus of about two years we do not think Bharat is the film she should have chosen. Confused? Here is why Bharat might not be the best Bollywood comeback idea for Priyanka Chopra.  

While Salman and Priyanka individually are two of the most loved and popular stars of Bollywood, they have hardly ever been a hit on-screen pair. Yes, they have given a hit, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi together, but they have also given flops like Salaam-e- Ishq and God Tussi Great Ho. Thus the two stars coming together might seem exciting, but the chances of them working as a pair aren’t very bright.

Let’s face it, if it’s a Salman Khan film, especially with Ali Abbas Zafar , two things are more or less confirmed. First, it will be a huge blockbuster and it will be a total ode to Salman and his larger than life persona. We are very sure that just like most Salman Khan film the actress, in this case, Priyanka Chopra will have nothing much to do while Salman Khan will be seen doing all sorts of Salman Khan things on-screen. 

Even if we try to ignore the Priyanka’s status as an international star, as an actress she has proven her mettle in films such like Bajirao Mastani , Barfi and many more. For an actress of her capability and stature we surely expected a comeback film that would be a complete Priyanka Chopra show.

If there is one thing that we have learned about Salman Khan films, it is that you do not have be a great actor to make a film work. And with Bharat as well we don’t think it will be a film which will require nuanced acting performances and Priyanka with her acting prowess would probably not be put to optimum use in the film.

If rumors are to believed, then along with Priyanka, Katrina might also the share the screen space with Salman in Bharat. Salman-Katrina-Ali Abbas Zafar is already a super hit combo and the jodi of Salman and Katrina is something g that has become iconic in Bollywood. Priyanka Chopra might just get eclipsed by the popularity of this iconic jodi.
