After The Success Of Stree, Bollywood Is Overdosing On Horror Comedies With These Upcoming Films

To be honest, horror comedy is probably one of the most tricky genres to get right. Over the years, it has been one of the genres that Bollywood has struggled with but all of that changed with the success of Stree. The 2018 release went on to become a superhit and showed how an amazing desi horror comedy is done.

While all of that was amazing, Bollywood did what it does best- identify a hit formula and repeat it over and over again until it becomes almost unbearable. Unfortunately, it looks like the same thing is happening with horror comedies. After the success of Stree, people are jumping on the horror comedy bandwagon a little too much and it looks like Bollywood is overdosing on them. Here is proof.

Bhoot Police

Directed by Pavan Kripalani, the film is going to star Saif Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal who will play ghost hunters in the film. They had recently announced the film and the makers have claimed that the film is going to hilariously spooky.

Laxmmi Bomb

Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil hit Kanchana 3 is now going to be adapted into Hindi and will be called Laxmmi Bomb, which is also going to be a horror comedy. Starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, a transgender ghost will be haunting Akshay Kumar in the film.

Coca-Cola

According to recent reports, Sunny Leone and Mandana Karimi has been signed for yet another horror comedy titled Coca-Cola. Although not much is known about the film, the fact these two absolutely gorgeous ladies are coming together for a film is enough to raise the temperature and get us really excited about it.

Housefull 4

This Akshay Kumar multi-starrer is going to introduce the element of horror in the super hit comedy franchise. The film grabbed headlines during the #metoo movement as both Nana Patekar and director Sajid Khan were accused and finally, the film had to replace both of them. Nana Patekar’s role is now being essayed by Rana Daggubati and the direction would be handled by Fahad Samji.

Stree 2

The film that started the craze and ended on a note that promised a sequel, is actually going to have one. Inspired by the success of Stree, the makers have already announced Stree 2 where most of the original cast, including Rajkummar Rao, would be retained for the second part.
