Here's When Virat Kohli Will Head Back To India To Be With Anushka Sharma For The Birth Of Their First Child

Lots has been said about Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s decision to cut short his stint in the Australian tournament currently going on. The cricketer had applied for a paternity leave which he has got and he will be flying back to India half way through the tournament to be with wife Anushka Sharma in time for the birth of their first child together.

Virat’s decision to leave his team’s side for personal reasons hasn’t exactly made cricket fans happy. Virat has now explained his reasons to the fans in a video posted by the BCCI. In the virtual conference ahead on the first ODI clash between Australia and India, Kohli explained, "I will be flying back after the first Test and that was purely based on the fact that we have a quarantine period both ways and I had explained the same to the selectors during our selection meeting.”

The soon to be father cleanly expressed his desire to be with his wife and said,  "I wanted to be back home in time to be with my wife for the birth of our first child and it is a very very special and very very beautiful moment in our lives and something I truly want to experience.”

"That was the reason behind my decision which was communicated to the selectors during the selection meeting,” he also added.

Despite his explanation the cricketer is receiving flak for deserting the team which according to many is a ‘national duty’. The is also another big group of fans defending Virat  and wholeheartedly supporting his reasons.
