The gorgeous Hina Khan is undoubtedly one of the most established actresses of Hindi television. She not only won the audiences’ heart as Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Komolika of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, but also left us in awe of her versatility with films such as Smartphone, Hacked and Unlock. As someone who has been a part of both television and films, Hina has always felt that Bollywood looks down upon TV actors. She has been vocal about the same in her interviews.

In a recent chat with IANS, Hina recalled her debut at the Cannes Film Festival last year and shared how things changed for her from there. She stated, “For me, I always mentioned things change because I hit the Cannes (red) carpet. I set an example for television. It became huge news and then other things happened. The whole industry came together and fought for me. But why are we looked down upon? I just don't get it.”

The actress, who looked drop dead gorgeous in each and every outfit she donned, was sadly trolled by some. Talking about how that wouldn’t have happened to a star kid, Hina said, “I walked the carpet and some stupid comparison is done. Why? Had it been some film star's son or daughter it wouldn't have happened. It gives a clear sign that they look down upon us.”

While that may be the case, there are many actors who have successfully transitioned to the Hindi film industry from television due to their spectacular acting skills and hard work. Kudos to Hina and the rest of them!
