Hum Do Hamare Do: Rajkummar Rao feels fortunate to call Paresh Rawal his friend; talks about concept of renting families

Rajkummar Rao is one of those few actors in the Hindi film industry who tend to experiment with unique and ‘hatke’ storylines in their films. Due to this reason, fans eagerly wait for him to announce his upcoming projects. Well, recently he shared the trailer of his next, titled Hum Do Hamare Do. Helmed by Abhishek Jain and backed by Dinesh Vijan, the comedy drama marks his second film with the gorgeous Kriti Sanon after their super hit rom com Bareilly Ki Barfi.

While the actor is as excited as his fans about shining on screen with Kriti, he is equally glad that he got a chance to work with the very talented Paresh Rawal. According to the trailer, Raj will adopt Rawal and Ratna Pathak Shah to be his parents in order to convince Kriti’s parents for their marriage. In a chat with Mid Day, Rajkummar shared, “I am fortunate to call Paresh sir my friend now. When I meet artistes I admire, I become an acting student all over again. I would bombard him with questions on his films and his process. We would play chess; he is a fine player but I am not that good.”

The actor also opened up about the concept of renting families, which is apparently quite a popular business in Japan. When Rajkummar first heard the story, he wondered why it can’t be a norm in our country. He explained, “There are so many lonely old people out there, and so many lonely [youngsters]. They can come together to become a family.” That’s a pretty good point!

Well, Hum Do Hamare Do is all set to premiere on digital platform Disney+Hotstar on 29th October. How excited are you for this one-of-a-kind film?
