Hum Do Humare Do trailer: Rajkummar Rao adopts parents to fulfil Kriti Sanon's desire, but will this trope have anything new to offer?

'Jab ladka ladki razi, toh kya karega kaazi?' is how the saying goes. However, in this nation, a marriage is hardly about the ladka- ladki and mostly about everyone around the two. It is more like a union of two families and most people have a certain idea of what kind of family they want to marry into- not just what kind of spouse. Kriti Sanon's character from Hum Do Humare Do wishes to marry into a loving family and looks like Rajkummar Rao's character has to go to great lengths to fulfil this desire.

He does precisely what one shouldn't do- hire a maa and a baap. The easier path out could have been just telling the truth- but then how would one get a story for the film anyway. So he, and Bollywood favourite BFF Aparshakti Khurana get a set of maa-baap for him.

Now, there's a catch here as well. The hired papa- played by Paresh Rawal will only get into the act if his wish is fulfilled- to get his one and only prem of life Ratna Pathak Shah pretend to play the mummy. The rest is similar- there are hilarious dialogues, the confusion that ensues, problems creeping up and all that. Yes, again, hadn't it been easier to just tell the truth guys?

The trailer is fun. However, with films like 14 Phere releasing just a few months back, we wonder whether this will have any different take to offer. Probably we will have to wait till the release of the film. It will stream on Disney + Hotstar from 29th October.
