Hungama 2 song Chura Ke Dil Mera 2.0: Shilpa Shetty is back to steal hearts; calls the track ‘old wine in a new bottle’

There are many who feel that when an iconic song is recreated, it loses its original essence. Most reprised versions which have emerged in recent times have proved the same, as they failed to recreate the magic. Well, Hungama 2’s first track Chura Ke Dil Mera 2.0, which is a reprised version of Shilpa Shetty and Akshay Kumar’s 1994 song, might change your mind. No, it’s not better than the evergreen version and we can’t even think of comparing the two! But like Shilpa herself described it, the song is like ‘old wine in a new bottle’.

While Shilpa successfully steals our hearts all over again with her graceful moves and gorgeous expressions, her co-actor Meezaan Jaffery leaves us in awe by acing the hook steps. But Paresh Rawal takes away the limelight by appearing in the background as Shilpa’s jealous and insecure on-screen husband! His facial expressions will leave you in splits. The beats of the 2.0 version, which has been helmed by Benny Dayal and Anmol Malik, are as good as you remember them. However, the only way you will truly enjoy this track is if you watch it with a fresh perspective instead of comparing it to the original.

Also starring Pranitha Subhash in the lead, the comedy is a spiritual successor to the 2003 film Hungama. It marks filmmaker Priyadarshan’s comeback to Bollywood after 8 long years. The trailer has received positive reviews so far and we can’t wait to be a part of the crazy, confusing story when the film premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on 23^rd July.
