If Hum Aapke Hain Koun Was Remade, These Actors Could Play Nisha And Prem, Says Madhuri Dixit

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was one of the biggest films of our times and very few films even today can live up to the beauty and the sheer joy that the film exudes. Besides, no nineties kid or adult can ever forget the crackling chemistry of the lead characters Nisha and Prem played by Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. The very first song that has the duo mouthing the title track in black and white looking at the camera made the audiences gaze at them absolutely awestruck and dazed!

Now is the era of remakes! What if the 1990 film was remade? Who would the makers take for portraying the characters of Prem and Nisha? During a media interaction when Madhuri Dixit (who played Nisha in the film) was asked this question she was quite literally taken aback. Quipped she, “Oh my goodness. I feel it depends on the way the characters are written. I feel our writers are very important. The way they will write the scenes and the dialogues will determine the chemistry between two actors. Just because you know each other, you can't create that chemistry. It has to be well written and directed. For me, anybody can play that role.”

But when the media asked her whether she felt Varun and Alia would do justice to their role, she said, they will be good for the characters, “Alia and Varun can easily play those characters. Alia is a very good actress. She can get into any role and make it her own, definitely. They’ll be good.” When Alia was told about what Madhuri thought, the Highway actress’s excitement knew no bounds, she exclaimed, "Wow! That's a first! Call up Sooraj Barjatya Sir, somebody. Unhi ko banaana chahiye...I don't think anybody can be Nisha and Prem - that was an iconic film. I feel, it's too gracious and generous of ma'am to say this.”

Well, we are one with Alia on that, we too don’t think anybody can be Nisha and Prem and that surely was an iconic film. And Films such as these are better left as they are. Classics are never remade!

Kalank is a period drama set in the 1940's and the film has a stellar ensemble cast comprising of Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
