India’s Most Wanted Review: Raj Kumar Gupta’s Film Doesn’t Hold Water, A Massive Let Down

    Film - India's Most Wanted

    Director - Rajkumar Gupta

Actors - Arjun Kapoor, Rajesh Sharma, Gaurav Mishra

    Rating - 1.5 out of 5

My Verdict -  There is nothing in the film that we haven't seen in the other terrorist-nabbing dramas before!

A film that is made on a terrorist who was nabbed from a foreign country by a group of untrained commoners without any arms and ammunition is bound to be interesting, right? It also starts off by using Shah Rukh Khan’s immigration issues in America. Therefore, I thought, this would be a hell of a ride! Unfortunately, it was a thorough let-down!

India’s Most Wanted tells the story of Prabhat Kapoor played by Arjun Kapoor who is an ardent patriot and is willing to sacrifice his life for his country. He puts together a team of unlikely officers so that they can nab India’s Most Wanted. The only thing that made Prabhat look different from his team that he didn’t have any woman in life, others had wives or mothers!

We have seen a lot of terrorist films that it has to be really special to stand out! Unfortunately, it falls flat on that. Arjun Kapoor tried to look the part – well, he tried hard! But his dialogue delivery and his body language didn’t quite do justice to the part he played. was borderline boring and lulled me to sleep!

This team out to nab the terrorist roams around the streets of Nepal in a Scorpio and there are people who suspect their intentions because there are no women with them and hence, they can’t be tourists! Like Really?!

The acting prowess of the extras deserves a mention. I mean they spoil the soup by staring into the camera time and again and at times their lousy overacting worsen it even further!

The music was so haphazard that it kind of let my mind meander from one feeling to the other, in short, it wasn’t edgy at all.

India’s Most Wanted Review: RajKumar Gupta’s Film About intelligence Wasn’t Intelligent At All

However, Nepal looked beautiful in almost all the frames and places like Pokhara and Kathmandu were made to look serene. A special mention about the Phewa Taal that forms the centre of the initial meetings with the Nepalese informer looks mesmerising.

Rajkumar Gupta has made some fine films and they are known for their edginess and on the contrary, in a bid to repeat that, he ends up making a hodgepodge of everything. The parts that led to the culmination of the events looked absolutely unnecessary. Some of the shots were prolonged for no reason. One shot worth mentioning is the slow-mo shot when Arjun and his team is walking towards the Indian army with the terrorist with them, that one shot was so long that it made me laugh out loud!

Well, the film was about a man uses his intelligence to apprehend the guilty, regrettably, the way it was filmed and the output wasn’t intelligent enough!
