Ishaan Khatter On His Film With Ananya Panday: “I Hope Khaali Peeli Has A Theatrical Release”

The very talented Ishaan Khatter was undoubtedly one of the most promising newcomers that Bollywood got to witness in the year 2018. He made a stunning debut with Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds and went on to win hearts as Madhu in Dhadak. Well the actor is all set to wow the audience once again with his upcoming film Khaali Peeli, opposite gorgeous star kid Ananya Panday. Backed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is expected to release directly on an OTT platform amid the pandemic.

Talking about the same in a chat with Mid-Day, Ishaan shared that he hopes to see his film on the big screen. He stated, “As an actor, the screen size shouldn't matter. But as an audience, watching a film in a cinema changes the experience. Films made for big screens are shot in a certain way, and every aspect of the film is built taking into account that it will finally be experienced in a large dark auditorium. I hope Khaali Peeli has a theatrical release because we always imagined it as a [big-screen] outing.”

Talking about his character, Ishaan said that this is his ‘first hero role’. The young actor explained that he never saw any of the characters that he has played so far as heroes because that's not how they served the stories. He went on to add, “But Khaali Peeli is an entertaining Bollywood movie, so the rhythm of my character is inspired by the Hindi film [protagonist].”

A remake of Vijay Devarakonda’s 2018 Telugu film Taxiwaala, Khaali Peeli also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Satish Kaushik.
