Jacqueline Fernandez Talks About Pre-Bollywood Struggles, Reveals She Was Asked To Get A Nose Job And Change Her Name

Jacqueline Fernandez is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous stars of Bollywood. The Sri Lankan beauty is not only a good actress, but also an extremely talented dancer. She began her career in the Hindi film industry in 2009 with the fantasy action film Aladin, also featuring Ritesh Deshmukh, Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt. It did not do too well at the Box Office and critics felt that the actress got a very limited role. However, she won hearts with her charming smile and went on to work in hits like Race 2, Dishoom and Kick among others.

Sadly, it was not an easy journey for Jacqueline to reach where she is today. In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, the actress opened up about the struggles she faced in the beginning of her career and said, “It's been about 10 good years. The craziest thing was that when I came here, I never thought how to stand out or do things differently. I just wanted to be me. So, I didn't put an act! People told me, 'Do a nose job, change your name'. I was like, 'is all this really needed?' I was calm, relaxed and collected about it. It worked out for me.”

She went on to share, “I would actually laugh though. I was told to change my name to Muskaan. My agency had these suggestions: Should we change her name because Jacqueline Fernandez is too western. How do we crack the industry with such a name? I was sure I'm not changing my name. People used to tell me I have to be a certain way. They wanted me to make my eyebrows darker. And the one feature of mine which I loved since childhood was my nose and then, someone asks me to change my nose.”

Well, we are sure fans are happy that Jacqueline never took the advice and continued to be who she really is. On the work front, the actress was last seen in the Netflix original Drive opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and is currently busy gearing up for the upcoming action thriller Attack, also starring John Abraham and Rakul Preet Singh.
