Janhvi Kapoor Opens Up About Her Sister Khushi; Feels Gunjan Saxena’s Biopic Has Given Her Confidence

One of the busiest bees of the Hindi film industry, Janhvi Kapoor is currently taking a much-needed break at home due to the coronavirus lockdown. She has been spending lots of quality time with her father Boney Kapoor and sister Khushi Kapoor and passes her free time by binge watching movies and television shows, dancing and cooking. In fact, she feels this period has brought out the MasterChef Andheri in her. On the other hand, Khushi has started making TikTok videos. Talking about the same, Janhvi stated that at 3am Khushi will start doing her makeup and making videos.

While Janhvi is a star in the making, Khushi has also become an internet sensation thanks to her TikTok videos. In fact, Khushi and Sara Ali Khan’s brother Ibrahim Ali Khan are two of the most loved star kids on the video sharing app. In a lockdown chat with Filmfare, Janhvi got candid about her relationship with Khushi and shared, “I’m like the imbecile, immature, childish younger sister somehow and she is the protective, sensible, independent older sister.” She went on to add, “But she takes me seriously with my work, which is the only time she takes me seriously.”

Meanwhile on the work front, Janhvi had finished shooting for Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Roohi Afzana before the lockdown began, whereas the filming of Dostana 2 is 40% complete. Talking about what Gunjan Saxena’s biopic has taught her, the actress shared, “I might say this about every film but I’ve shot a couple of films now and the level of investment that I have with Gunjan is unparallel. Like, it’s something so deep and so personal. I think actors have this tendency to draw parallels between their lives and the characters that they are playing, so I think that I learnt so much while shooting for the film about how I want to be as a person and my place in this industry. It gave me a lot of confidence I think, even though it hasn’t even come out yet.”

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl was slated to hit theatres on 24th April but is now expected to premiere on digital platform Netflix due to the nationwide lockdown.
