Janhvi Kapoor Reveals The Biggest Similarity Between Her And Sridevi; Calls Herself A ‘First-Take Actress’

Star kids in Bollywood are often compared to their superstar parents, no matter how different they and their work may be. Take late superstar Sridevi and filmmaker Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor, for instance. The young actress is currently busy gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Roohi, co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma. In the horror comedy, Janhvi plays the role of an innocent girl who is possessed by a ghost who abducts brides on their honeymoon.

Recently when her innocence and simplicity were compared to her mother Sridevi in an interview, Janhvi replied that she can’t even dream of being like her mother. She was quoted by Bollywood Hungama saying, “Sir, I am nowhere close to what she was. I want to feel that she’s watching over me, feeling pleased. I do know I can never be like her. You know better than anyone else that no one can do what she could. I’d just be happy to select the right roles and do them my way. I’d never dream of trying to do it her way.”

However, there is one thing that’s similar between the two according to the star kid. Apart from their genes, Janhvi feels she is a switch-on-switch-off actress just like her mother. She explained, “During the shooting of Gunjan Saxena and Roohi I realized I am my best in the first take. My director would say, you do what you have to and then just blank yourself out in subsequent takes. Yeh lo! Maine apne hi ko first-take actress bol diya.”

Well, we are sure Sridevi is as proud of Janhvi as her father Boney Kapoor is.
