Janhvi Kapoor To Headline The Hindi Remake Of Malayalam Survival Thriller Helen, Boney Kapoor To Produce

After her debut with Dhadak in 2018, this year meant back to back releases for Janhvi Kapoor who kicked off 2020 starring in the Netflix anthology Ghost Stories. The actress was also to shoot for a few upcoming projects including wrapping up Dostana 2 and starting work on Karan Johar’s Takht. While the plans for 2020 got delayed for the entire world Janhvi Kapoor might have added another project to her list of upcoming projects.

If reports are to believed the actress might star in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Helen. Her father Boney Kapoor has reportedly secured the rights for the remake this 2019 survival thriller.

A source close to the development tells Pinkvilla, "Janhvi and Boney had announced a film called the Bombay Girl earlier this year. They were supposed to do that film first. But now, Boney has bought the rights to remake the popular Malayalam film Helen in Hindi. Janhvi will play the lead role in the Hindi version and step into the shoes of Anna Ben from the original." 

Helen is the story of girl who fights to survive after getting accidently locked in a freezer at a restaurant she works part time at. The movie is also getting remakes in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.
