Janhvi's Gunjan Saxena Makes Way For Angrezi Medium, Irrfan Khan's Film Preponed To 13 March; Roohi Afza Date Changed Too

The trailer of Irrfan Khan’s Angrezi Medium hit the internet just a few days ago and there was no controlling the excitement that followed after seeing Irrfan in a movie again after two years. To the good luck of Irrfan Khan fans the film is now coming a week earlier than anticipated replacing Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena on March 13, 2020.

Karan Johar took to Twitter to share the news where he announced that Dinesh Vijan has taken the Gunjan Saxena release date for Angrezi Medium while he has taken up Dinesh’s release date for Roohi Afza. On Twitter Karan Johar wrote, “Friendships in the fraternity are rare but when they exist ...they are empowering! Dinoo and I have have made an exchange of dates! ANGREZI MEDIUM will come a week earlier on the GUNJAN SAXENA date 13th of March.2020 and GUNJAN SAXENA takes the ROOHI AFZA date 24th April 2020.”

Janhvi Kapoor’ two films Gunjan Saxena and Roohi Afza will now release on 24 April and 5 June respectively.

Well while we are happy about the friendly exchange of release dates between two the producers, it’s easy to get confused about which movie to expect when.

Irrfan Khan will not be promoting Angrezi Medium which also stars Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor due to his ill health. In an emotional message before the release of the trailer the actor told fans to wait for him. “Hello, brothers and sisters, I am with you and not with you. This film, Angrezi Medium, is very special to me. I truly wanted to promote this film as passionately as we made it, but there are some ‘unwanted guests’ in my body and they’re keeping me busy. I’ll keep you informed on that front. There’s a saying, ‘when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.’ It feels good to hear, but when life really hands you lemons, making lemons is really difficult.”

The message struck a chord with fans and stars alike and celbs like Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan responded to it saying ‘we are waiting for you’.
