John Abraham’s was the first shot for 2021 calendar, reveals Dabboo Ratnani

Since Dabboo Ratnani had to cancel his annual calendar launch party due to the ongoing pandemic, the celebrity photographer has been unveiling his shots on social media-- a virtual launch for the Dabboo Ratnani 2021 calendar. Much to our delight, along with the breathtaking portraits the photographer has also been uploading behind the scenes clips with his muses! In a recent post shared by him, actor John Abraham revealed that he shot his first official portfolio in 1998 with Ratnani. It has been 23 years and they are back together again. What a journey!

Well, before launching John’s shot from the calendar, the photographer shared the story behind the photograph. In a report shared by Spotboye, Dabboo was quoted saying, “John was shooting in Lucknow when I was planning this year’s calendar. I just messaged him to plan something interesting. In a few minutes he messaged me that he was in Lucknow and had some time and called me there.” For the uninitiated, the actor was in the city shooting for Milap Zaveri’s Satyameva Jayate 2.

The photographer flew down a day and a half later and they shot for the calendar. Dabboo feels it was meant to be. Talking about the shot, he shared, “We were planning to shoot his portrait in black and white, but when we saw it in colour, we couldn’t not use it. It was actually the first shot we did for this year’s calendar.”

Well, we can’t wait to see how it turns out!
