Kangana calls for the 'reestablishment of Ram Rajya' in reply to Alia's ad against 'kanyadaan': "Please stop mocking Hindus"

Kangana Ranaut has shared her opinion on Alia Bhatt’s recently released ad for a wedding fashion brand that is not caught in controversy for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The commercial which paints the practice of ‘kanyadaan’ in Hindu weddings as regressive has faced backlash and has been flagged as several social media users as misleading.

Alia Bhatt plays the bride in the commercial who asks ‘main koi daan karne ki cheez hoon?’ apart from also mentioning how girls are often called ‘paraya dhan’ in society. Kangana now points out that the practice of ‘daan’ shows a society’s ‘core value system’ and said, “When they start to look down upon the very idea of daan.... Then you know it is time for reestablishment of Ram Rajya.... The king who renounced everything he ever loved only to live the life of a Tapasvi(Monk) Please stop mocking Hindus and there rituals.... Dharti and woman both are mothers in scriptures they are worshipped as goddesses of fertility.... Nothing wrong in seeing them as precious and very source of existence (shakti).”

In another post, Kangana called out the ad for painting the term ‘parya dhan’ in a bad light and even tagged the brand and Alia Bhatt saying, “Dhan is not a dirty word, your mind is dirty”.

Explaining the use of the word ‘dhan’ Kangana further added, “Dhan is used in many contexts like ' Maine Ramratan Dhan payo' aur ' Putra Dhan' or' Saundrya our roop ke dhani hona' are commonly used terms... Kanya Dhan or paraya dhan does not mean you are selling your daughter.... Stop this anti hindu propaganda.”

Apart from the criticism that the commercial has met with post release many a sections of social media are also celebrating the ad as a progressive step forward.
