Actress Kangana Ranaut and her manager and sister Rangoli Chandel have appealed to defer their date of appearing before the Mumbai Police after a case of spreading communal hatred was filed against them recently. The sisters were summoned to record their statements in the case before the Bandra Police of 26 and 27 October.

Their lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui told New 18, “My clients Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel will not be attending the Police Station on 26 & 27. I have responded to the summons and sought time after November 15.”

The complaint filed by a casting director and fitness trainer Munawwarali Sahil Sayyed before the Bandra Metropolitan Court. The Bandra Police was asked to file an F.I.R against the siblings basis this complaint where they face charges under Indian Penal Code Sec. 124-A for sedition. They have also been accused of promoting communal hatred and falsehood.

Sayyed who has already recorded his statement with the police has alleged that the actress defamed the film industry and tried to spread negativity about people working in it. It has also been alleged that Rangoli and Kangana have attempted to drive a wedge between artists of different communities with their recent posts on social media.
