Kangana Ranaut Demands Karan Johar Be Stripped Of His Padma Shri Honour, Calls Gunjan Saxena An 'Anti-National' Film

Kangana Ranaut’s tiff with filmmaker Karan Johar is the biggest fallout between two celebrities in recent times. The actress whose discontent with Karan started out with accusing him of nepotistic practices in Bollywood has only aggravated over time and today in a tweet the actress requested that his Padma Shri honour be revoked after his recent film Gunjan Saxena drew flak for ‘undue negative portrayal’ of the Indian Air Force in the film.

Kangana in her tweet stated multiple reasons behind her request of wanting Karan stripped of his national honour and stated, “He openly intimidated me and asked me to leave the industry on an international platform, conspired to sabotage Sushanth’s career,he supported Pakistan during Uri battle and now antinational film against our Army.”

The IAF wrote to the Central Board of Film Certification against Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and claiming that Karan’s Dharma Productions tried to brush their concerns under the carpet by not making changes to the film and instead of offering to add a disclaimer in the movie along with suggesting a marketing plan. The Air Force claimed that the film is ‘misleading’ and hints at an ‘inappropriate work culture’ against women in the organization.

Ever since several officials from the army have criticized the film for being factually inaccurate and also portraying undue discrimination many have demanded that the film stops screening as it sends out a wrong message.

Kangana has since been calling out both Karan Johar and the film coupled with all her previous grievances with the filmmaker.
