Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat’s comments questioning the values of women wearing ripped jeans at a recent workshop held by the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has sparked outrage on social media. After the politician’s views went viral where he questioned what values women who like wearing ripped jeans will impart to their children, several women have been posting pictures in ripped jeans condemning the minister for his views.

Actress Knagana Ranaut, however, had a very different take on the whole matter she like many women on Twitter shared pictures in ripped jeans. Unlike the women protesting against the Uttarakhand CM’s comments under the hashtag ‘#RippedJeansTwitter’, Kangana wrote that only people who can carry the fashion trend like her should wear ripped jeans. She added that if their ‘cool quotient’ isn’t as high as hers them they seem to look like ‘a homeless beggar who hasn’t got allowance from parents this month.’

In a tweet with pictures from a few airport outing Kangana said, “If you want to wear ripped jeans make sure coolness quotient is of this magnitude as in these pics, so that it looks like your style not your state a homeless beggar who hasn’t got allowance from parents this month, most young people look like that these days #RippedJeansTwitter.”

Apart from Kangana, Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda and Gul Panag were among those who called out the politician for his comment.
