Mental health and mental illnesses are widely misunderstood topics in our society which require special attention. These are things which need to be talked about and people need to understand how it is absolutely normal. Thankfully, more and more people are gradually opening up to the topic and it is finally being discussed. Many celebrities from the Indian entertainment industry are also sharing their personal experiences with fans, motivating them to talk to their near and dear ones about their problems. Comedy king Kapil Sharma recently talked about the same and had a special message for his fans.

In a chat with Pinkvilla, Kapil shared that he was lucky to have his wife Ginni with him when he was having a low phase in life. He also revealed that he could talk to her and share his feelings and thoughts about anything even before they got married. He stated, “If someone is feeling depressed or low, that is the time they should reach out because bottling it up can result in the person taking a wrong step.” The comedian went on to add, “Sometimes a problem that might appear trivial to you might be a lot to bear for someone else.”

Amongst other things, exam results are one of the major reasons which have an effect on students and their families. Talking about the same, Kapil stated that it’s just an exam and not the end of the world. He said parents should prepare their children for any possible outcome and went on to share his personal experience. He recalled, “I had failed in Maths during my 10th exam, I was scared to tell my father but I told him. My father understood me. If I was not that good at Maths, my score in other subjects was good. And in today’s time, I am successful in whatever I am doing. Aur jo main kaam kar raha hoon uss mein koi bhi subject kaam nahi aaye hai.”

Kapil concluded, “So life is also a journey. It is important to teach kids this from the very beginning. Parents should prepare their kids and be open with them since the beginning because life will be full of obstacles, later on, exams are not the end of it.”

Well said Kapil Sharma! It’s high time that we as a society understand this.
