Karan Deol reveals how he gathered his confidence after debut film Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas: ‘Through lockdown, I recharged myself’

After legendary superstar Dharmendra and his children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Esha Deol, Bollywood was introduced to another generation of the Deol family in 2019. Sunny’s son Karan Deol began his journey in the Hindi film industry as an actor with his father’s directorial Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. Over 400 girls were auditioned for the female lead opposite Karan before Sahher Bambba bagged the role. Fans were super excited for the romantic drama, but sadly it did not meet expectations and also performed poorly at the box office.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Karan shared that after his debut he was left on his own. His father told him to be his own person, learn from his mistakes and take his own decisions. Then came the pandemic and the lockdown helped him get his confidence back. He shared, “I was with my chacha (Bobby Deol), dada (Dharmendra) and papa... there was the whole family vibe. I watched my old acting videos I did in film school. I saw how happy I was. I started acting because I love it, so I can’t let anything put me down. It reinstilled confidence in me. Somehow through lockdown, I recharged myself. I got into a positive headspace to go another round.”

Karan now has two exciting projects in the pipeline. He will soon begin the shoot of Deven Munja’s crime comedy, titled Velley, in Delhi and will also share the big screen with his father Sunny, his uncle Bobby and his grandfather Dharmendra in Apne 2. The actor will be seen as a boxer. Well, we wish him only the best!
