Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh begin Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani prep on a stylish note

Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar are all set to collaborate for the first time on a film. The actor will be starring in the Dharma chief’s next directorial venture titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. According to reports, the work on the film is officially underway and the actor has joined the filmmaker for a recce for the project in New Delhi.

According to a Times of India report, Karan and Ranveer were scouting for locations in the National Capital where the shoot is likely to begin next month. The director-actor duo posed for a stylish selfie which Karan shared on his Instagram stories and tagged Ranveer writing, “Rocky uska naam!”

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be one of Karan’s classic family entertainers where Alia Bhatt has been paired opposite Ranveer once again after Gully Boy. The film also stars Shabana Azmi who will play Alia’s mother in the film while Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan have been cast as Ranveer’s family.

The film was announced on Ranveer’s birthday, July 6. Karan in a tweet introduced the project writing, “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it! Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy. This anokhi kahani is coming to your screens in 2022!”

The film will mark Karan’s return to direction after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016.
