The discussion over the 90-day payment system of the TV industry has been going on as long as the lockdown itself. With many actors struggling to meet ends they felt compelled to speak up about how some of them have not been paid for over a year due to delay in payments and now actor Karan Patel too has spoken on the subject.

In a chat with Pinkvilla, Kasautii Zindagii Kay’s new Mr. Bajaj, Karan Patel revealed that he has been fortunate enough to not face payment issues as an actor working with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms for who he has been working for some time now.

Karan also pointed out that the actors also need to be considerate of the producers’ situation during this crisis.  He tells the portal, “But, right now the producers are also going through a little rough time. As an actor, if we can be a little more understanding of the producer, I think yeh mamla thoda easily solve hoga. What I would do is, I will ask my producer to pay the makeup people and other guys first and can pay me a little later.”

As for work itself the actor is grateful for the work opportunity he got even during these trying times. He says, “I have been blessed and lucky that way. More than the pay cuts or pay scale, I feel lucky and fortunate that I have got a show when there is a shortage of work. I feel grateful. Apart from that, payments upar niche hote rehte hai, it is life. It is a phase.”

The actor had earlier also revealed he was offered Naagin 5 by Ekta Kapoor but was later roped in for Kasautii. Karan Patel is replacing Karan Singh Grover as Mr. Bajaj in Kasautti after the later backed out.
