EXCLUSIVE: Karan Singh Grover Dropped From Kasautii Zindagii Kay Not For Date Issues But This Reason

Off late there has been a lot of hoo-ha about who would be essaying the role of Mr. Bajaj in the Balaji Telefilms’ Kasautii remake. There were so many names that were being considered for the role and some of them belonged to the film fraternity.

We at Desimartini had also done an article about how actor Ronit Roy was keen to do the role but the makers did not budge as the makers didn’t want to cast anyone who had been part of the original show.

And then there were reports of Karan Singh Grover being a part of the show for the role (even though he was part of the original show). Reports were rife in the media about how Karan was finalised for the role but then after a few days, all of the speculations went down the drain and now the news is, Karan Singh Grover is no more in the running for the role. Well, there are media reports of Karan Singh Grover not being able to give his time for the role and he is having date issues with the makers and that is the reason why he is out from the show!

However, that is far from the truth. One of our sources close to the production house revealed the whole truth. Quipped he, “Karan Singh Grover has nothing on his plate and the statement that he is having date issues is just rubbish! The main reason why he is asked to leave the show is that he was charging a humongous amount for every single day he was to shoot!”

The source further said that if he would have been granted the amount, he would be the highest paid actors in the show. “Hina Khan charged more than 2 lakhs per episode and Karan was charging almost 3.15 per episode!”

The source went on to say, “it was because of this that the makers thought that it would not be feasible for them to take him in the show for the said role and they got rid of him.”

We had to get to the crux of things and hence we tried to get in touch with Karan for a statement on this, but there was no response from him till the time of filing the story.
