Karisma Kapoor On 21 Years Of Haseena Maan Jaayegi: ‘I Feel Tremendously Nostalgic’

Karisma Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most popular and adored actresses of the Hindi film industry. In her 29 year long career, the beauty has won our hearts time and again with her killer acting skills and screen presence in films such as Dil To Pagal Hai, Raja Hindustani, Raja Babu, Fiza, Coolie No. 1 and Hum Saath Saath Hain to name a few. However, her performance in Haseena Maan Jaayegi stands out from the rest. Her impeccable comic timing, on-screen chemistry with Govinda and amazing expressions left fans in awe.

Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and Pooja Batra, David Dhawan’s comedy is clocking 21 years on 25^th June. Talking about the same to IANS, Karisma shared, “21 years of 'Haseena Maan Jaayegi' -- seems unreal! The film is timeless, be it the comedy, the romance or the drama. The memory is still fresh of how the film charmed audiences and now that we achieve this milestone looking at the next generation groove to the music, knowing each character and the hook steps, just warms my heart.” She went on to add that she feels tremendously nostalgic and the film is very special to her.

Haseena Maan Jaayegi is inspired by the 1966 film Pyar Kiye Jaa, which was a remake of 1964 Tamil classic Kadhalikka Neramillai. It is considered to be one of Govinda's greatest performances ever. As the film clocks in 21 years, maybe it’s time for a sequel? What do you say?
