Kartik Aaryan Parted Ways With Red Chillies’ Freddy In January; Production House Holds No Grudges

Back in April this year, reports suggested that Kartik Aaryan has been ousted from Dostana 2, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and newbie Lakshya. A few hours later Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions released an official statement about recasting the film due to ‘professional circumstances’. Well, last week it was reported that the actor has walked out of Ajay Bahl’s Freddy, which would be backed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. However, latest buzz has now revealed that Kartik parted ways with the project back in January.

In a report shared by Bombay Times, an industry insider was quoted saying, “Kartik parted ways with Red Chillies’ Freddy in January. Things didn’t work out. There was no bad blood. That film hasn’t taken off yet and the makers themselves wanted changes in the script and director Ajay Bahl was clear that he won’t make any. No one has been signed for it, so Kartik saying no to being cast alongside Katrina Kaif is bizarre. Why are these stories coming out now?”

The source went on to reveal that Kartik did return the money and the production house has no issues with him. Basically, no grudges! The project will now go on floors this year with Bahl, but no actors have been cast yet. As they say, all’s well that ends well.
